4th International Symposium on Small Towns

The organisers and partners of the conference are aiming to intensify public and governmental awareness of town development in rural Europe by increasing professional discussion and spreading know how. The same goal is aspired by the ASSET Project (Action to Strengthen Small European Towns) of ECOVAST International and its partners.

The 4th Small Town Symposium emphasises the importance of our (historic) small towns with their opportunities and strategies for the 21stcentury. A comprehensive dialogue and exchange of expertise on the topic “Small Town Development in Rural Europe” in the sense of “co-operating and learning from each other” will gain a new momentum.

4th Internationales Kleinstadtsymposion

Die Veranstalter und Partner dieses Symposions haben sich zum Ziel gesetzt, das Thema Stadtund Regionalentwicklung weiter zu professionalisieren und in Form von hochwertigen Kongressveranstaltungen, Experten-Know-How auch international, zu bündeln.

Das "4. Internationale Kleinstadt Symposion" rückt die (historische) Bedeutung von
Kleinstädten sowie deren Chancen und Strategien für das 21. Jh. in den Mittelpunkt. In einem nationalen und internationalen Dialog wird eine vernetzte, umfassende Auseinandersetzung rund um das Thema "Die Entwicklung der Kleinstadt und des ländlichen Raumes“ gefördert. Ein praxisorientierter Erfahrungsaustausch im Sinne von "miteinander arbeiten – voneinander lernen“ soll starken Projekten eine Bühne bieten und Fachwelt sowie Öffentlichkeit informieren.

ECOVAST ANNUAL ASSEMBLY 2007

The ECOVAST Assembly for 2007 will take place in Samobor, Croatia, on Sunday 14 October.

There will be an International Conference on the topic of Small Towns on Mon-day 15 October, and an excursion to see examples of Croatian towns on Tuesday 16 October, with the option of returning to Zagreb that evening, or seeing another town on the following morning before going to Zagreb.

Samobor is a very good venue for our annual gathering – an excellent example of a small town, within easy reach (a short bus journey) of Zagreb.
